The team at AdserverPlugins.com is releasing an update of the free Statistics as Graphs plugin for Revive Adserver. This version 1.0.2 is available for download right now.
We’re also very proud to report that this plugin has been downloaded over 1,000 times to date.
This is a bug fix release that takes care of one issue:
- Properly fixed the issue with scientific notation: the previous fix was generating a malformed JSON response in certain situations
In addition to this bug fix, an new built-in version check has been added so that we can notify users about new versions of this plugin from inside the user interface of the graphs pages.
I downloaded and installed this as instructed, but sadly it didn’t work, I got a misconfiguration error. But I can’t seem to find any further information on why or what I might do about it.
Hi Nick,
Thanks for your comment and for letting us know it’s not working for you. Can you please be a little bit more specific about what happened? When does this ‘misconfiguration error’ occur? Is it during the upgrade of the plugin or later? Would it be possible for us to log in on your OpenX to check it out? If so, please contact us via the contact form.
Best regards, Erik Geurts
Sorry for the late response again Erik.
I still get a blank graph. However, interestingly, it sometimes works for some data, and some not. The plugin test installation is a local installation and is not on the internet. I will dedicate some time for this during the weekend and post back the results.
Dhanyawaad / Regards,
Rithish.
Hi Rithish,
The fact that it works in some cases is interesting. I would recommend checking out if you’ve assigned enough memory to PHP and also see if you can enable php warnings and error messages on screen. That might tell you what happens in those cases where it doesn’t work. Also, have a look at the Apache error log, that might contains some valuable information.
Best regards, Erik Geurts
Hello Erik,
No, no errors logged in Apache. I get the JSON. So, I presume no PHP issues, but graphing is dying in rendering the data.
I downloaded OpenFlashGraph to try out, and it dies with my JSON. So there!
Hi Rithish,
Thanks for your update. It seems to me that this might be a problem with the local setup of either your server or your browser. Please let us know if you find out more.
Regards, Erik Geurts
Hi,
In both the plugins, in the Statistics as Graphs plugin and also the Video ads plugin, I get an error message. I need them urgently working. I have installed as explained above. Can you please explain what is wrong?
Hello, thanks for your feedback.
Before I continue some notes:
– we did not make the Video ads plugin, that one was developed by the OpenX team at OpenX.org
– both of these plugins happen to use an third party library called Open Flash Charts (OFC) to produce graphical representations of the statistics
One more note: you’ve posted a comment here, the blog post about the release of version 1.0.2. There is currently a newer version 1.0.3 available.
If you read the error message that you’ve encountered, you’ll notice that it says there to review the server error log. In that log there is going to be very valuable detailed technical information about the exact reason or cause of the problem. You will need that information to fix this issue. This may not even be an issue with this plugin or the Open Flash Charts (OFC) component.
