Switching plugin pricing and payments to Euro on May 1st, 2026

On May 1st, 2026, we’re going to switch pricing and payments for new licenses of our plugins to the Euro currency. In this blog post, we’ll provide information about why we’re making this switch, how it will be handled, and what it means for our existing and future licensees.

What’s changing?

Starting on May 1st, 2026, the licenses for all of our digital products will be priced in the Euro currency, switching away from the US$ currency we’ve been using so far.

Why this change?

We’re making this change for a number of reasons:

  • As a company based in The Netherlands (part of the EU and the Euro zone), we are required to do our bookkeeping in the Euro currency. Until now, when a license is sold, the US$ amount is immediately converted into the corresponding Euro amount by our payment processor (Stripe), using the actual foreign exchange rate at the time of the transaction. However, over the past 12 to 15 months, the exchange rate has been fluctuating heavily, mostly in a direction that is very unfavorable to us. We want to reach a point where our revenues are more easily predictable, and setting license fees in Euro is the way to do that.
  • While the US$ remains one of the most used currencies in the world, other currencies are increasingly important. The European Union is actually a larger entity than the United States in terms of population size and number of businesses. Moreover, even outside of the US and the EU, other countries and regions of the world are more likely to trade in Euro today than in the past.
  • In regions outside of the United States, it is much more common to use payment methods other than credit cards, which have been the bread and butter of international online transactions for a long time. For example, in Europe, most companies (large and small) have access to direct bank-to-bank payment methods like iDeal/Wero. Such companies are less likely to even have a credit card at all. Switching to the Euro as the currency on our site will enable us to facilitate those modern payment methods while still allowing the use of credit cards and the US$ as the source currency for transactions.

How will we handle this change?

On May 1st, 2026, we’ll make a single change in the backend of the transaction system, from US$ to Euro, and from that moment on, all future transactions will be processed and settled in Euro. Any and all transactions before May 1st, 2026 will remain visible in the system as having been handled in US$.

When you reach the checkout page after May 1st, 2026 , you will see amounts in Euro. Your bank or credit card provider will handle the conversion automatically, just as they have done in reverse until now, ensuring a seamless checkout process.

Next, we will introduce additional payment methods, instead of just the current option of using a credit or debit card.

Some time after the initial change to Euro, we’ll also introduce “adaptive pricing”, meaning that any new customer coming to our site will automatically see the applicable amount for a new transaction in their own currency, using the actual live exchange rate at that very moment. This will be based on either the geographic location as recognized for that customer, or the country they indicate to be from on the checkout page. Once that amount is displayed, it will be guaranteed by our payment processor for the next 24 hours, ensuring there will not be any surprises if it takes a little time to complete the transaction or to get permission from higher up in the company hierarchy.

With the upcoming introduction of Adaptive Pricing, customers outside the Eurozone will not only see prices in their local currency but will also avoid the ‘hidden’ foreign transaction fees often charged by banks, as the transaction will be settled in their native currency.

What this means for existing and future licensees

Any licenses purchased before May 1st, 2026, paid for in US$, will continue to be valid and active even after we change the transaction currency to Euro. If the same licensee wants to purchase a license for one of our other digital products on or after May 1st, 2026, that transaction will be processed in Euro.

Because of the foreign exchange rates as they are now, this change effectively results in a price increase for some of our customers. For example, a license that previously cost US$ 149 (approximately € 127 at the time of writing) will be priced at € 149 after May 1st, 2026. We want to be transparent about this shift; if you are currently considering a purchase, we highly recommend completing it before May 1st, 2026, to take advantage of the current lower rates before the transition to Euro-based pricing.
